Live from Fort Collins, it’s the 19^th annual Houska Houska 5k Memorial Day Run/Walk. Join us on Monday, May 30 at 9 a.m. for this family- and dog-friendly event. The event includes food, drinks, kids’ games, live music, and a Saturday Night Live themed costume contest for adults, children, and dogs.

Houska Automotive is the main sponsor for this event, and like last year, a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Poudre Valley Cancer Center and the Rocky Mountain Bone Marrow Donor Program. (In 2010, the Rocky Mountain Bone Marrow Donor Program helped over 500 people receive bone marrow testing to find potential donors.)

Saturday Night Live fans will remember well this timeless quote from motivational speaker, Matt Foley:

Now, you kids are probably saying to yourselves, “Hey, I’m going to go out and get the world by the tail and wrap it around and pull it down and put it in my pocket!” Well, I’m here to tell you that you’re probably going to find out, as you go out there, that you’re not going to amount to JACK SQUAT!

Contrary to Mr. Foley’s inspiring words, we’re here to tell you that as you go out and run this year you’re not only going to amount to JACK SQUAT but much, much more!  Last year, race participants helped raise over $25,000 for the Poudre Valley Cancer Center and the Rocky Mountain Bone Marrow Donor Program. With your help, we can top that amount.
